Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Python) with a minimum of 3.5 years of professional backend development experience to join our remote engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high-performance backend systems, APIs, and microservices in an asynchronous, remote-first work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend Development: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code to build scalable backend systems.
- API Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain secure RESTful APIs and web services.
- System Optimization: Refactor existing codebases, optimize performance, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Database Management: Work with relational and non-relational databases, ORMs, and query optimization.
- Quality Assurance: Write unit and integration tests to maintain code quality and stability.
- Remote Collaboration: Communicate effectively across time zones with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 4+ years of professional software engineering experience using Python.
- Frameworks: Solid experience with standard backend frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
- Databases: Proficiency with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis) and ORMs (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Django ORM).
- System Design: Good understanding of software architecture, REST API design, and asynchronous programming.
- DevOps Basics: Experience with Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD tools.
- Remote Skills: Proven ability to work autonomously, manage priorities independently, and communicate clearly in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with distributed systems and message brokers (Celery, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
