We are currently representing a global market leader in power solutions that is seeking a dedicated Test Engineer to join their Quality Department.This role is critical in ensuring that all finished products and components meet rigorous functional, safety, and quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-site Execution & Witnessing: Perform hands-on testing from factory inspections to full Integrated Systems Testing (IST). You will also be required to witness and oversee critical on-site tests.
- System Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing on High/Low Voltage switchgear, UPS systems, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and Backup Generators.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and track "punch list" items—including UPS errors and hardware defects—ensuring all issues are fully resolved.
- Quality Assurance: Exercise the authority to reject and quarantine batches of components failing quality standards or unauthorized modifications to testing procedures.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, energy efficiency analyses, and final handover documentation for customer acceptance.
- Collaborative Corrective Action: Issue formal Corrective Action Requests (CAR) to sourcing or production teams when defects are traced to assembly or suppliers.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with various test instruments and manufacturing quality tools (e.g., 5Why, Fishbone diagram, FMEA, SPC).
- Preferred Certifications: A valid CIDB license is highly preferred for site entry purposes.
- Advantageous Skills: Knowledge of automated test software or programming (LabVIEW, Python, PLC, or C++) is a significant plus.
- Communication: Ability to coordinate effectively with internal departments and external vendors, suppliers, and customers.
