Job Summary
As a Test Engineer, you will ensure the highest standards of quality, functionality, and compliance for complex electronic assemblies and medical device components. You will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, and optimizing testing procedures, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Diagnostics: Test, diagnose, rework, and verify complex sub-components and final electronic products using electrical schematics, drawings, and specialized procedures.
Independent Analysis: Utilize strong technical capabilities to autonomously test and diagnose units with minimal direction.
Data & Documentation: Record detailed failure data, track test issues in databases, and collaborate with engineering teams to document product repair changes and implement corrective actions.
Test Setup Optimization: Recommend design modifications, updates, and efficiency improvements for testing setups; support the assembly and configuration of dedicated test stations.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and standardized test procedures detailing evaluation methods, equipment used, and final product results.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain clear, consistent communication across shifts, with peers, and with supporting engineering organizations to ensure smooth operations.
Continuous Improvement: Active engagement in process improvement teams to enhance testing yield, quality, and operational throughput.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Tertiary education (Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Electrical, Electronics, or Biomedical Engineering.
Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in testing, electronics troubleshooting, and hardware diagnosis within a manufacturing environment (electronics or medical devices preferred).
Technical Skills: Proficient in reading electrical schematics, implementing engineering change notices, and utilizing standard electronic diagnostic equipment.
System Knowledge: Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP is highly preferred, alongside proficiency in standard Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Autonomy: Proven ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining high reliability and consistent attendance.
Physical Capability: Capability to make common mechanical connections associated with hardware testing, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required by testing setups.
