The Treasury Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day execution of payment processing and employee claim reimbursement for entities supported by the Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC). The role ensures that payments, petty cash and employee reimbursements are processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with approved policies and internal controls. The position will work closely with the Accounts Payable (AP) team, Country Finance teams, employees, banks, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth payment operations.
A. Payment Processing

• Review and process payment requests based on approved invoices, payment documents, and supporting documentation.
• Verify that payment requests have obtained the required approvals in accordance with the Delegation of Authority (DOA) and payment approval matrix.
• Perform checks on payment amount, beneficiary details, bank account information, payment due date, and supporting documents before payment execution.
• Prepare and upload payment batches through the relevant banking platforms / payment systems.
• Execute payments according to the established country payment schedules and cut-off timelines.
• Perform payment validation and ensure successful payment execution.
• Monitor rejected, failed, or returned payments and coordinate with the relevant teams for resolution and reprocessing. • Ensure payment records and supporting documents are properly maintained for audit and reconciliation purposes.
• Liaise with banks and internal stakeholders to resolve payment-related issues.
B. Employee Claim Reimbursement
• Review employee expense claims to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
• Verify supporting documents such as receipts, invoices, approvals, and business justifications.
• Ensure claims are properly approved before reimbursement.
• Process employee reimbursement according to the established payment cycles and cut-off dates.
• Follow up with employees and approvers on incomplete or outstanding claims.
• Handle rejected or disputed claims and coordinate with HR / Finance / employees for resolution.
• Ensure reimbursement transactions are accurately recorded and properly supported.
C. Bank & Payment Operations
• Monitor daily payment activities and ensure payments are completed within the required timeline.
• Perform payment status checks and follow up on outstanding transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliation and investigation of payment-related discrepancies, where required.
• Maintain accurate payment trackers and ensure timely updating of payment status.
• Support bank account administration, including documentation and coordination for bank-related matters, where applicable.
• Ensure payment-related master data, including beneficiary and bank information, is properly maintained and updated through the appropriate approval process.
D. Month-End Closing & Reporting
• Support month-end closing activities relating to payment and employee reimbursement transactions.
• Ensure all payments and reimbursement transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system.
• Perform reconciliation of payment-related balances and investigate outstanding or unreconciled items.
• Prepare payment and treasury-related reports / analysis as required.
• Provide timely information and supporting documents for financial reporting and audit purposes
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• 4–8 years of relevant experience in treasury, payment processing, accounts payable, finance operations, or shared services. • Experience in high-volume payment processing and employee reimbursement is preferred.
• Experience in a Shared Service Centre / regional finance environment is an advantage.
• Familiarity with banking platforms, ERP systems, and payment workflow systems.
• Good understanding of payment controls, approval workflows, and basic accounting principles.
• Experience supporting multiple entities / countries is an advantage.
