Key Responsibilities
1. Full-Set Accounting & Operational Oversight
- Ledger Management: Oversee and manage the complete set of accounts, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), Fixed Assets, and Intercompany transactions.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor daily cash positions, oversee bank reconciliations, and prepare accurate rolling cash flow projections to support working capital requirements.
- Team Supervision: Guide and support junior accounting staff/executives in daily transaction processing, resolving operational bottleneck issues efficiently.
2. Financial & Statutory Reporting
- Closing Cycles: Lead and manage the end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes within strict corporate deadlines.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare, review, and consolidate monthly management accounts, financial statements, and related disclosure notes.
- Variance Investigation: Conduct detailed balance sheet and income statement variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) to identify discrepancies and ensure accounting accuracy.
3. Tax, Compliance & External Audit
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all accounting practices strictly comply with IFRS/local accounting standards and internal corporate governance policies.
- Taxation: Oversee and coordinate corporate tax compliance, including timely filings for corporate income tax, withholding tax, and indirect taxes (SST/GST/VAT where applicable).
- Audit Coordination: Act as the primary interface for external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries, ensuring all statutory audits are completed smoothly and on schedule.
4. Corporate Budgeting & Process Optimization
- Budgeting Support: Actively participate in the preparation of annual corporate budgets and periodic financial forecasting exercises across corporate business lines.
- Process Modernization: Identify opportunities to refine financial workflows and system processes, leveraging ERP capabilities to automate manual tasks and enhance control frameworks.
- SOP Documentation: Develop, update, and maintain robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the finance department.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field. Professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA, CIMA, or equivalent) are highly advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 5–6 years of progressive experience in core accounting and financial reporting.
- Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience navigating and extracting data from robust ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards, local financial frameworks, and statutory tax regulations.
