We are looking for a meticulous and high-caliber finance professional to join our Group Finance team to drive consolidation and compliance standards.
The Role
The Group Accountant will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of the Group’s financial consolidation and statutory reporting. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that all financial information across the Group’s subsidiaries is accurate, timely, and in full compliance with Bursa Malaysia listing requirements and current accounting standards.
Key Accountabilities
1. Group Consolidation & Financial Reporting
Consolidation Management: Perform monthly and yearly Group consolidation, including the preparation of consolidation schedules, elimination journals, and adjustments.
Statutory Compliance: Ensure all financial statements are prepared in accordance with MFRS/IFRS and the Malaysian Companies Act.
Bursa Submissions: Coordinate and prepare the quarterly announcement packages and annual reports for timely submission to Bursa Malaysia.
2. Governance & Audit Coordination
External Audit Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the audit timeline and ensuring minimal audit findings.
Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen the internal control framework (including SOX where applicable) to safeguard Group assets and ensure data integrity.
Policy Implementation: Assist in the development and rollout of Group-wide accounting policies to ensure standardization across all business units.
3. Strategic Support & Process Improvement
Performance Monitoring: Assist the Finance Manager in analyzing departmental and subsidiary KPIs to track performance against the Group’s strategic objectives.
Process Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline the reporting cycle through ERP enhancements (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or LucaNet).
Tax & Treasury Support: Support corporate exercises, including tax planning and cash flow monitoring to optimize the Group’s financial position.
The Ideal Candidate
Professional Qualifications: A member of MIA, ACCA, CPA Australia, or MICPA.
Experience:
Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in accounting and finance.
Must have Big 4 External Audit experience (at least at the Assistant Manager level).
Significant commercial experience in a Mainboard-listed company handling Group Consolidation and Bursa reporting.
Technical Skills:
Expert-level knowledge of MFRS/IFRS and Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements.
High proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or dedicated consolidation software like LucaNet.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for complex financial modeling and data analysis.
Soft Skills: A highly analytical individual with a committed work ethic and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-governance environment.
