Job Description: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The Role
The CFO will be a strategic "co-pilot" to the Managing Director/CEO, providing the financial leadership necessary to navigate a large-scale Public Listed Company (PLC). This is a high-impact mandate requiring a leader who can balance the rigors of Mainboard governance with the agility needed for business turnaround and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & PLC Governance
...Board Advisory: Serve as a member of the Executive Committee, presenting financial performance, strategic insights, and risk assessments to the Board of Directors and shareholders.
Bursa Malaysia Compliance: Ensure absolute adherence to Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, Securities Commission regulations, and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
Investor Relations: Lead corporate exercises, including rights issues, private placements, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A), while managing the group's equity story for the investment community.
Strategic Planning: Lead the annual business planning and long-range strategic forecasting cycles to align financial targets with organizational objectives.
Manufacturing Finance & Operations
Operational Excellence: Partner with the COO and Plant Managers to drive cost productivity, SKU rationalization, and standard costing improvements across multiple manufacturing sites.
Plant & Capital Management: Oversee large-scale CAPEX projects for new production facilities, ensuring robust return on investment (ROI) and net present value (NPV) analysis.
Supply Chain Optimization: Drive working capital efficiency through strict management of inventory, payment terms, and creditor negotiations.
Strategic Cost Management: Implement group-wide cost-reduction initiatives and "Zero-Based Budgeting" to protect bottom-line margins in a fluctuating commodity market.
Financial Operations & Risk
Treasury & Funding: Lead banking relationships to secure diverse financing instruments, bridge loans, and sukuk issuances to support strategic expansion.
Internal Controls & Audit: Strengthen the Financial Control Framework to ensure "First-Time-Right" data and mitigate potential financial or operational risks.
Tax Strategy: Oversee complex tax planning, including transfer pricing, Investment Tax Allowances (ITA), and cross-border tax optimization.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience: At least 15+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5–10 years in a senior leadership role (CFO/Finance Director) within a large-scale, Mainboard-listed manufacturing entity.
Qualifications: Professional membership in the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) is mandatory; Fellowship in ACCA/CPA Australia or an MBA is highly preferred.
Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of MFRS/IFRS, corporate finance, and sophisticated ERP environments (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Soft Skills: A dynamic leader with exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing high-level business decisions and building future-ready finance talent pipelines.
