We are looking for a driven and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to oversee production operations, gatekeep project transfers into mass production, maintain standardized work compliance, and continuously optimize line productivity. Reporting within the manufacturing engineering department, you will play a central role in line balancing, OEE achievement, process quality, and collaboration with regional engineering teams across the APAC region.

- Project Gate Management & Mass Production Transfer:
- Participate in early project launch phases to review business case (BC) targets and customer-specific requirements (CSR).
- Act as a key project gatekeeper during release phases (CR/ER) to ensure smooth transitions from trial runs to full-scale Mass Production (SOP).
- Act as a key user in supporting SAP routing creation, verification, and documentation updates for active production models.
- Process Compliance & Quality Standards:
- Implement error-proofing solutions (Poka-Yoke) and verify that all production jigs, fixtures, and tooling comply with strict internal quality standards.
- Lead trial runs for engineering change requests (ECR) on active SOP models and track timely implementation.
- Participate in standardized work audits, layered process audits (LPA), and both internal/external quality audits.
- Actively support daily troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and QRQC response.
- Productivity Improvement & Capacity Planning:
- Conduct daily Gemba walks to enforce standardized work principles and continuously improve PFMEA and Control Plans.
- Perform annual and multi-year capacity planning (WPS/MPS/IBP); identify bottlenecks and propose solutions for capacity constraints.
- Monitor and drive line performance to achieve operational OEE, cycle time reduction, and labor efficiency targets.
- Utilize Lean tools (KATA, BBSC, P+ projects) to optimize shop floor layouts, material flow, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Global & Regional Engineering Collaboration:
- Participate in Value Engineering / Value Analysis (VEVA), Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP), CAPEX, and COGS cost-reduction roadmaps.
- Represent the Penang plant within the company's Global Engineering Network (GEN).
the experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Industrial, or Acoustical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within the speaker manufacturing, electro-acoustics, or high-volume electronics industry.
- Technical & Problem-Solving Expertise:
- Proficient in problem-solving methodologies and statistical tools (5 Whys, 8D, DOE, DMAIC, Minitab).
- Hands-on proficiency with CAD software for designing or reviewing jigs and fixtures.
- Solid working knowledge of SAP (BOMs, routings) and core quality processes (PFMEA, Control Plans, Audits).
- Added Advantage: Prior experience working closely with APAC regional teams
