We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Trade Marketing Manager to oversee channel activation and principal management for a key food and beverage portfolio. In this role, you will manage relationship alignment across 3–4 key principal brand owners, translating brand strategies into effective trade plans, driving in-store visibility, and optimizing commercial promotion strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary commercial and marketing liaison for 3–4 principal brand partners, driving joint business planning and strategic alignment.
- Develop and execute comprehensive trade marketing strategies, channel-specific promotional calendars, and go-to-market plans.
- Drive in-store visibility, merchandising excellence, and POSM deployment across modern trade, general trade, and key retail accounts.
- Plan, manage, and evaluate trade marketing budgets and promotional spending to maximize overall return on investment.
- Analyze channel sales performance, market trends, shopper insights, and competitor activities to identify strategic category growth opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with internal sales, supply chain, and principal marketing teams to align stock forecasting, campaigns, and distribution rollouts.
- Oversee trade events, retailer-tailored campaigns, and localized P.R. or promotional activations in support of channel strategies.
- Perform detailed campaign post-mortems to track promotion effectiveness and optimize future commercial plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in trade marketing, category management, or commercial execution within the FMCG or F&B distribution sector.
- Direct experience managing principal relationships, brand owners, or cross-functional trade partners.
- Solid understanding of Malaysian retail trade channels, consumer purchasing behaviors, and distribution networks.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and budget management capability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of prioritizing initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
