Our client from a French MNC is looking for a Legal Counsel in Johor Bahru, you will serve as a key advisor on all legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance matters.

about the job

• Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, vendor/supplier contracts, logistics, and service arrangements.
• Corporate Governance & Compliance: Ensure operations comply with local laws, data privacy (PDPA), consumer protection, and global corporate policies.
• Business Advisory: Provide practical legal solutions to cross-functional teams to mitigate operational risks and support commercial objectives.
• Property & Operations: Assist with real estate, lease agreements, store/office development, and operational matters.
• Dispute & Risk Management: Handle litigation matters, operational complaints, and manage external counsel when necessary.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B); admission to the Bar.

• 4–6 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in corporate law or an in-house legal role (commercial, retail, or corporate background preferred).
• Strong grounding in commercial contract law, real estate/tenancy law, and corporate compliance.
