• 1. Probate & Estate Administration

  • Advise the business on complex legal matters relating to Wills, Grants of Probate, Letters of Administration, and Small Estate Distribution orders.
  • Manage and facilitate the transmission of property titles from deceased owners/buyers to lawful beneficiaries or administrators.
  • Draft, review, and finalize estate-related legal documents, including Deeds of Family Arrangement, Powers of Attorney, Indemnities, and Settlement Agreements.

  2. Land & Property Development Legal Advisory

  • Conduct due diligence on land acquisition targets involving deceased joint-owners, unadministered estates, or complex ownership structures.
  • Identify legal risks associated with unprobated properties and devise practical, legally sound strategies to regularize land titles for development.
  • Assist sales and conveyancing teams in resolving disputes or delayed completions arising from the death of a purchaser or property owner.

  3. Estate Management & Trust Compliance

  • Oversee legal strategies regarding corporate or family estate holdings, trust assets, and land holdings under the company's portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with national land codes, probate legislation, trust laws, and relevant tax implications (e.g., stamp duty exemptions, real property gains tax).
  • Manage dispute resolution and potential litigation concerning contested wills, caveats, or conflicting claims over estate properties.

  4. Stakeholder & Panel Lawyer Management

  • Manage relationships and oversee work assigned to panel law firms handling probate litigation or complex conveyance matters.
  • Act as the internal point of contact for external beneficiaries, executors, and family representatives during property transition processes.

about the requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE), with proven expertise in civil litigation,probates, wills and corporate compliance—ideally gained in-house with a property developer/builder or within a top-tier dispute resolution practice.
