about the job

• Provide senior-level legal and compliance advisory to management and clients, ensuring strict adherence to SC, BNM, and Labuan IBFC regulations.
• Lead the drafting, negotiation, and review of complex legal and governance documentation, including family constitutions, trusts, wills, and cross-border asset structures.
• Oversee enterprise-wide risk management, client due diligence (KYC/AML), and the implementation of robust internal policies and SOPs.
• Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the Legal and Compliance team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and seamless cross-functional coordination.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) with admission to the Malaysian Bar preferred, backed by at least 6 years of relevant experience in financial services.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian regulatory frameworks (SC, BNM, Labuan).
• Willingness to travel across Southeast Asia (SEA) monthly to support regional client engagements and operational needs.
• Demonstrated managerial or supervisory exposure, with the ability to lead, mentor, and oversee the performance of a legal and compliance team.
