About the job
In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the day-to-day legal operations of the Group. Your primary focus will include but not limited to drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, handling tenancy and employment agreements, and overseeing corporate secretarial functions. While our senior legal team handles major M&A activities, you may have the opportunity to gain exposure by providing legal assistance in their matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of corporate and commercial agreements, with a strong focus on Sales and Purchase agreements, tenancy agreements, employment contracts, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
- Corporate Secretarial Oversight: Act as the internal liaison for corporate secretarial matters, reviewing board minutes, AGMs, and circular resolutions handled by our outsourced professional services.
- Legal Compliance & Due Diligence: Assist in corporate due diligence (CDD) and conduct legal risk assessments to safeguard the Group’s domestic and overseas operations.
- Advisory:Provide sound, practical legal advice to internal business units on routine operational matters.
The Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) and/or Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) or equivalent
- Called to the Malaysian Bar
- 2–3 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE)
- Experience in drafting and reviewing tenancy and employment agreements, alongside basic exposure to corporate commercial law.
- Basic foundational knowledge of corporate secretarial duties and practices.
