The Senior Project Manager will lead a complex, multi-country HCM payroll project, ensuring successful delivery within budget and on schedule. The role brings together business, technology and vendor teams to move toward a single and consistent payroll system and operating model.

The role is responsible for making sure the program is delivered within its schedule, quality and budget,
while coordinating a broad stakeholder group across P&C, Finance, Technology, local country SMEs,
Workday and third party vendors.
Project Management
- Manage project stakeholders, including executive sponsors, project team members, and externa vendors.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the project from mobilisation through design, build, testing, cutover, hypercare and country BAU handover.
- Develop and maintain the integrated project plan, milestones, critical path, dependencies, RAID log and decision register.
- Drive disciplined execution across workstreams and vendors so that scope, schedule, cost and quality remain visible, controlled and actively managed.
- Ensure delivery plans reflect phased rollout, country-specific requirements and agreed acceptance criteria.
- Drive closure of key decisions that materially affect schedule, cost, scope or operational readiness.
Governance and Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives, HR leaders, and IT stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
- Manage expectations and resolve conflicts to ensure project success.
- Establish and run fit-for-purpose governance forums, reporting cadence, escalation paths and decision checkpoints across vendros
- Coordinate senior stakeholders across People & Culture, Finance, Technology and project sponsors to secure timely decisions, approvals and issue resolution.
- Provide clear, concise and decision-oriented reporting to sponsors, steering forums and workstream leads.
- Maintain alignment between business priorities, technical delivery constraints and vendor commitments.
Vendor Management:
- Manage delivery relationships with vendors, tracking vendor deliverables, commercials, milestone readiness, change requests, risks and obligations under relevant SOWs.
- Ensure vendor-led outputs are complete, fit for purpose and aligned to the acceptance criteria before sign-off.
- Escalate delivery, quality or commercial concerns early and drive resolution through agreed governance channels.
Cross Functional Coordination:
- Orchestrate the work of cross-functional teams including business SMEs, payroll, HR systems, integration, security, finance, testing, change and data migration resources.
- Ensure functional design, technical solutioning, data migration, testing and operational readiness activities are sequenced and integrated effectively.
- Work closely with business and technical leads, recognising that SMEs and specialist leads own detailed solution content while the Project Manager owns delivery integration and outcome landing.
- Collaborate with payroll subject matter experts to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing.
Hypercare and Support:
- Manage the transition to BAU teams, production and provide ongoing support during the hypercare phase.
- Monitor system performance, identify and resolve issues, and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
