About the Company
Our client is an established group of companies specializing in professional services, publications, and legal/corporate solutions.
About the Role
As the Sales & Marketing Manager, you will hold a dual-focus portfolio (split evenly between sales strategy and marketing oversight) reporting directly to the General Manager. Your core mission is to optimize the lead-to-revenue pipeline and ensure mutual understanding between the sales and marketing functions.
Rather than focusing strictly on personal day-to-day hard-closing, you will manage a specialized team, oversee Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs), and strategically direct how high-value accounts—such as law firms and major corporations—are targeted and nurtured.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and align the sales and marketing teams to ensure smooth collaboration and eliminate past operational silos.
- Pipeline & MQL Management: Oversee incoming Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and strategically route them to internal Head of Departments (HODs) or Service Solution Consultants.
- Deal & Pipeline Oversight: Manage the workflow of service solution consultants to ensure payments are secured within a one-month turnaround time; oversee invoicing allocations when deals are passed or closed.
- Market Penetration & Targeting: Develop strategic frameworks to target high-value clients, specifically large corporations and legal firms across key regional territories (including Sabah and Sarawak).
- P.R. & Networking: Lead high-level industry networking initiatives, represent the brand at corporate events, and set up sales/marketing booths to drive brand visibility and lead generation.
- Campaign & Budget Tracking: Plan and execute marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and digital strategies while closely monitoring the department's marketing expenses and ROI.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of relevant working experience in dual sales and marketing management roles.
- Industry Savvy: Experience or strong knowledge in publishing, education, legal, or professional corporate service industries is highly preferred.
- Networking Capabilities: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and P.R. skills with a proven track record of building strong corporate networks.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to manage budgets, analyze market trends, conduct competitor analysis, and forecast pipeline data.
- Mobility: Must possess own transport and be willing to travel for regional events, networking, and booth activations when required.
