About the Job
Based in Penang, this role is perfect for a junior sales professional looking to grow. You will take charge of our plastics division in the Northern area, balancing the relationship management of our core industrial clients with active hunting for new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and expand the distribution of raw plastic resins, polymers, and compounding materials to regional manufacturers.
- Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with existing clients while actively identifying new factory accounts in the Northern region.
- Learn to act as a commercial consultant, assisting factories with cost simulations and managing cross-border shipping terms (Incoterms).
- Monitor division credit limits, assess customer financial standing, and ensure timely collections to prevent bad debts.
- Coordinate closely with regional suppliers and clients through corporate entertainment, including business lunches and dinners.
Skills & Experience Required
- A University Degree in Business Administration, Chemicals, or a related field of study.
- Minimum 1 year of sales or marketing experience; previous exposure to the plastics or chemical industry is a strong advantage.
- Energetic, independent, and highly motivated to manage regional client accounts with minimal supervision.
- Fully comfortable with corporate socializing, including meeting clients and suppliers over business lunches and dinners.
