RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Financial Reporting
- Maintain financial records in accounting system timely.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and schedules, i.e., supporting schedules, intercompany accounts, and miscellaneous accruals etc.
- Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliation, investigate, and address any discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly prepayment schedule and amortization entries.
- Preparation of journal voucher for approval.
- Monitor receivable and payable deposits.
- Maintain fixed assets register listing and ensure depreciation is calculated and captured correctly.
- Ensure Internal Control Framework compliance across activities. Adhere to segregation of duties defined by management.
B. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
- Support periodic business analyses as per requirement and provide business with performance insights.
- Support on periodic performance reporting (Monthly, Quarterly) in close collaboration with the onsite FP&A counterpart, i.e., Regional Reporting Team.
- Fulfill ad-hoc reporting and analysis requirements from the APAC Leadership team.
- Carry out checks of accuracy, completeness and inform the GL/ Reporting Team of any deficiencies.
- Support GL Team on annual audits, tax return and other statutory bodies to ensure timeline submission and full compliance with regulatory requirements.
C. Budgeting & Forecast
- To support budgetary team for budget / forecast to prepare long range plans, annual goal, and periodic forecasts.
- Perform bank or cashflow projection.
- To prepare financial information and analysis to support reporting paper.
- To prepare financial information and analysis upon requested by superior.
- Organize stand up meetings to provide regular progress updates to the respective team lead.
D. Banking & Treasury
- Monitor bank covenant records, timely submission of covenant requirements, i.e., Debt Service Cover Ratio (DSCR), annual budget etc.
- Liaise with banker on banking administrative matters, attend bank query, review, and update user register, i.e., M2E users’ access.
- Monitor bank guarantees, i.e., apply/ renew bank guarantee prior to expiry at agreed timeline.
- Monitor Term Loan repayment. Liaise with banker on banking administrative matters, i.e., users’ access,
- Apply/ Renew bank guarantee on time.
- Attend bank query, review, and update user register, i.e., M2E.
- Monitor Term Loan repayment.
- Monitor MBB covenant records.
- Update and prepare cash position summary on a weekly basis. Analyze significant cash movement.
- Assist in forecast of sufficient funds in meeting its immediate month or two.
E. Compliance
- Manage statutory audits, including preparation of financial statements and coordination with external auditors.
- Handle the company's tax matters, including bi-monthly SST filings and corporate tax.
- Review the adequacy of tax provision and tax installment.
- Monitor Withholding tax submissions and payment.
- Monitor tax instalment, CP 204 are being paid on time.
- Assist in BNM and MDEC reporting.
F. Ad hoc
- To involve and assist in E-invoicing implementation (LHDN due date in June 2024).
- To involve and assist in duties assigned from time to time by the Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or a Professional Qualification (MIA/ ACCA/ CPA/ ICAEW/ MICPA).
- Preferred audit background.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or a related role.
- Able to adapt in MNC/ Crossed Border Management environment.
- Financial focus and experience, sensitive in numbers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint). Experience with Oracle NetSuite will be advantageous.
- Familiar with accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Good organization, analytical skills and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Committed with a strong sense of responsibility and able to work within deadlines.
