The Treasury Manager/Treasury Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's treasury functions in Malaysia. This role will involve managing cash flow, optimizing liquidity, mitigating financial risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash Management:
- Monitor daily cash positions and forecast short-term and long-term cash flows.
- Execute cash management strategies to optimize liquidity and maximize returns on surplus funds.
- Coordinate with banks to manage bank accounts, transfers, and deposits efficiently.
Financial Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including foreign exchange risk, interest rate risk, and credit risk.
- Develop and implement hedging strategies to minimize exposure to market fluctuations.
- Monitor financial markets and economic trends to anticipate potential risks and opportunities.
Debt Management:
- Manage the company's debt portfolio, including loan facilities and bond issuances.
- Evaluate financing options and negotiate terms with lenders to optimize borrowing costs.
- Ensure compliance with debt covenants and regulatory requirements.
Investment Management:
- Analyze investment opportunities and recommend investment strategies to maximize returns while managing risks.
- Monitor investment portfolios and performance against benchmarks.
- Execute trades and transactions in accordance with investment policies and guidelines.
Treasury Operations:
- Oversee treasury operations, including cash reconciliations, payments, and settlements.
- Implement and maintain treasury systems and processes to enhance efficiency and control.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on treasury activities, liquidity positions, and financial performance.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by senior management.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to integrate treasury data into financial statements and budgets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, ACT, CTP) is a plus.
- Minimum of X years of experience in treasury management, preferably in a multinational corporation or real estate industry.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and treasury best practices.
- Proficiency in treasury management systems and financial software (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, SAP).
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to treasury operations.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages such as Malay or Mandarin is advantageous.
