Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Accountant to support the finance operations of our growing commercial business. This role is pivotal in managing day-to-day financial activities, delivering timely and accurate reports, and supporting business functions with financial insights. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, practical operational finance experience, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), general ledger, treasury management, and month-end closing processes.
- Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts, budget reviews, and quarterly forecasts.
- Supervise and guide a team of Accounts Executives, ensuring timely task execution, mentoring, and performance management.
- Ensure financial records and transactions are accurately maintained in line with MFRS, internal policies, and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Procurement, and Operations to provide relevant financial data and support decision-making.
- Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and financial institutions.
- Support cash flow management, assist in forecasting, and identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements.
- Implement and monitor internal controls and compliance measures, ensuring alignment with both group policy and local statutory requirements.
- Participate in finance system enhancements or ERP-related initiatives; familiarity with SAP or similar systems is an advantage.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support for business expansion, pricing, and commercial projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Must be a Qualified Accountant, holding any certification recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), such as:
- ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW ACA, CIMA, MICPA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team supervision role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial finance operations, including budgeting, variance analysis, and cash flow reporting.
- Prior experience in both audit (external or internal) and commercial industry settings is preferred.
- Proficient in ERP systems, with experience in SAP being highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs.
