Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and analytical Accounts Receivables Assistant Manager to support and optimize our receivables process in the financial services industry. The role involves managing collections, analyzing payment trends, and strategically assigning accounts to internal or external recovery teams. You will play a key role in improving the company’s collection performance and reducing bad debts.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day Accounts Receivable (AR) operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and financial standards.
Analyze customer payment behavior and trends to identify risk accounts and recommend strategic actions.
Classify and assign overdue accounts to appropriate departments:
Internal Collections Team – for standard follow-ups
Litigation Process – for legal escalation
Third-Party Collectors – for external recovery efforts
Develop, implement, and monitor collection strategies to maximize recovery and reduce bad debt.
Evaluate the effectiveness of each collection channel and recommend process improvements.
Forecast receivables and optimize collection cycle time to support cash flow management.
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Legal to resolve disputes and facilitate escalated collections.
Supervise AR staff to ensure accuracy in daily operations and timely record-keeping.
Generate AR reports, dashboards, and insights to support management decision-making.
Contribute to AR policy development and support automation initiatives to scale collection processes.
Coordinate with external officers, government agencies, and enforcement authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.
Perform ad-hoc tasks or assignments as directed by management to support operational goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit Control, preferably in financial services.
Strong knowledge of collections for loan or financing products.
Experience handling internal collections, legal escalation, and third-party agencies.
Solid analytical skills with the ability to translate data into action plans.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (e.g., SQL, SAP, Oracle).
Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience in scaling collection processes through automation or third-party integrations.
Familiarity with financial regulatory requirements (e.g., BNM, AMLA).
Strong project management and stakeholder coordination abilities.
