Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven AVP, Investment to join our group-level investment team. This role plays a critical part in driving the group’s investment strategy, managing end-to-end deal execution, and supporting capital management initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep financial expertise, strong real estate market knowledge, and proven experience managing complex transactions across sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Management
Conduct comprehensive market research and monitor industry trends to support investment and divestment strategies.
Assist in the planning and monitoring of investment portfolio budgets aligned with strategic business unit (SBU) goals.
Originate and evaluate new business and investment opportunities, including acquisitions, divestments, and joint ventures.
Support the formulation and execution of investment strategies, including due diligence, deal structuring, and execution.
Review and assess financial models, capital structures, and investment risks to ensure commercially sound decisions.
Manage the entire transaction lifecycle—due diligence, negotiation, structuring, documentation, closing, and integration.
Work closely with internal legal teams on deal-related contracts, including SPAs, JVs, and financing agreements.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, investment committees, partners, and boards to secure necessary approvals and alignment.
Facilitate a seamless transition of completed investments to operations and asset management teams.
Continuously enhance internal investment processes, controls, and governance to align with best practices.
Capital Management
Stay informed on capital markets, funding costs, and customer trends to support strategic decision-making.
Assist in developing capital management frameworks to optimize capital efficiency and risk mitigation.
Evaluate and structure real estate investment deals; manage funding strategies including debt financing or equity raising.
Engage with banks, analysts, and institutional investors for fundraising initiatives and investor relations activities.
Collaborate with enterprise risk and finance teams to ensure investment-related risks are monitored and addressed.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Real Estate, or related fields. CFA qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in investment, real estate, corporate finance, or private equity, preferably within a conglomerate or real estate-focused organization.
Solid understanding of property investment, development, asset management, and capital markets.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling, investment valuation, and due diligence.
Excellent negotiation, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong presentation, reporting, and communication capabilities in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
Willingness to travel as required.
