Job Summary:
The Finance Director will be responsible for leading and managing all financial aspects of the organization, including financial planning, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and risk management. As a key member of the senior leadership team, this role is pivotal in providing strategic financial insights and ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive financial management experience within a public listed environment, and the ability to drive improvements and transformation within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management
... Lead and manage the company’s financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, auditing, and cash flow management.
Ensure that all financial transactions, policies, and procedures align with the company’s business objectives and comply with accounting standards and statutory regulations.
2. Strategic Planning
Develop and implement long-term financial strategies in line with business goals.
Provide financial leadership in areas such as risk management, investment strategy, capital allocation, and business growth initiatives.
Support strategic decision-making through scenario analysis, financial modeling, and strategic forecasting.
3. Financial Reporting
Oversee timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Present financial performance updates and key financial metrics to the Managing Director, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
4. Compliance & Taxation
Ensure full compliance with all financial, tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements at the local, state, and federal levels.
Oversee tax planning and ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and statutory obligations.
5. Leadership & Team Development
Lead and develop the Finance and Accounting team to ensure high standards of performance, professionalism, and integrity.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, automation, and capacity building.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and financial discipline.
6. Stakeholder Management & Investor Relations
Act as a key liaison for investor relations, ensuring accurate and consistent communication of financial performance and strategy to shareholders and analysts.
Build strong relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
7. Other Responsibilities
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent is required.
Minimum 12 years of working experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
Prior experience in a public listed company (PLC) is essential.
Strong knowledge of corporate financial law, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.
Proven experience in financial forecasting, data analysis, and strategic financial planning.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial management systems (e.g., SAP).
Experience in investor relations and capital market communications.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
High level of integrity, critical thinking, and sound decision-making capabilities.
