Job Title: Finance Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Finance Manager to join our finance leadership team at one of Malaysia’s most respected engineering firms. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, sound financial reporting capabilities, and the ability to partner closely with operations and project teams. Candidates with a Big 4 background and/or commercial finance experience are highly encouraged to apply. Immediate starters will be given priority.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee full set of accounts and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with MFRS and local statutory requirements.
Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and commentary for senior leadership.
Manage year-end audit, liaising with external auditors and tax agents.
Commercial Finance & Project Support
Partner with project teams to provide financial insights on job costing, WIP, and margin tracking. ✅
Monitor project budgets vs. actuals and identify areas for cost improvement. ✅
Prepare financial models and feasibility analyses for new proposals and project bids.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
Lead annual budgeting process and periodic re-forecasts.
Track KPIs and support strategic planning efforts across departments.
Drive financial discipline across the business and advise management on cost-saving initiatives.
Cash Flow & Treasury
Monitor and manage company cash flow and working capital.
Oversee banking operations, payments, and collections.
Forecast funding needs and support in financing arrangements when necessary.
Internal Controls & Compliance
Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and recommend enhancements.
Support tax compliance, SST submissions, and ensure all filings are timely and accurate.
Lead or support the implementation of finance systems or process improvements as needed.
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory.
Minimum 5–8 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably with:
Commercial experience in project-based or engineering companies
Big 4 background (audit or advisory)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines.
Candidates who are available to start immediately or on short notice will be prioritised.
