We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Petaling Jaya. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with relevant financial regulations, and supporting both internal and external audits. This role is vital in upholding the integrity of financial data in a fast-paced and project-driven EPCC environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & General Ledger
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and Bursa Malaysia requirements.
Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure timely closing of financial periods.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure supporting documentation is properly maintained.
Audit & Compliance
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including tax, SST, and Bursa reporting.
Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls in line with company policy and governance frameworks.
Project Accounting & Cost Control
Monitor project financials including cost recognition, revenue recognition, and margin analysis.
Work closely with project teams to track project budgets, billing schedules, and WIP.
Prepare and analyze project-level P&L reports for management review.
Budgeting & Forecasting Support
Regulatory & Statutory Filings
Support tax compliance processes including preparation of tax schedules and liaising with tax agents.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial information to Bursa Malaysia, LHDN, and other regulators.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a public listed or EPCC / construction company.
Strong knowledge of MFRS, Companies Act, and relevant statutory requirements.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Proficient in Mandarin is preferable
