Role Overview
The Financial Controller will lead all aspects of the finance function, combining strong technical accounting expertise with strategic financial planning. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a finance professional who can balance accurate financial reporting with proactive business partnering to support growth.
The successful candidate will oversee a lean but capable finance team and collaborate with operations, sales, and senior leadership to ensure that financial insights drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
Manage internal controls, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance
Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts
Develop financial models for planning, scenario analysis, and decision-making
Monitor performance vs. budget and deliver variance analysis with actionable insights
Cost & Manufacturing Finance
Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and technical teams to manage COGS, inventory, and production costs
Drive cost control initiatives and identify efficiency opportunities
Support pricing strategies and margin improvement initiatives
Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
Provide financial insights for key business initiatives and strategic decisions
Conduct investment analysis (e.g., capital expenditure, expansion, equipment purchases)
Present financial results and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the finance team to foster high performance and accountability
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration
Additional Responsibilities
Manage long-term leases, business contracts, and agreements
Prepare management reports and other ad-hoc tasks as assigned
Requirements
Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA)
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in senior finance roles, ideally in a manufacturing or product-based environment
Proven expertise in financial reporting and strategic financial planning
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance
Proficient in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Jet Reports is an advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must have own transportation and be willing to travel as required
