Position Summary:
As the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing the full spectrum of group finance, accounting, reporting, budgeting, and governance for the Group. You will be a strategic partner to the CFO and business unit heads, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance with Bursa Malaysia and MFRS requirements, and the delivery of timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to guide decision-making. This role is ideal for experienced finance professionals from leading public listed companies looking to step into a high-impact leadership position.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidated financial statements in compliance with MFRS, Bursa MMLR, and other regulatory frameworks.
Ensure timely closing of group and business unit financials, and review key accounting treatments.
Manage preparation of board papers, investor materials, and financial content for annual reports.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the group-wide budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with business units.
Monitor actual performance against budget and conduct variance analysis with recommendations.
Present financial performance insights to CFO, CEO, and senior management.
Strategic Business Partnering
Act as a trusted advisor to business heads, providing financial analysis and insights to support commercial decisions.
Participate in investment appraisals, pricing strategies, and cost-benefit evaluations for major projects.
Internal Controls & Compliance
Drive the implementation and enhancement of internal controls, SOPs, and financial governance across the group.
Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and regulatory bodies (e.g., LHDN, Bursa, MIA).
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
Support the CFO in cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and debt covenant compliance.
Optimise working capital, monitor liquidity, and advise on fund placement strategies.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and upskill a finance team of professionals across group and business units.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, performance excellence, and ethical conduct.
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, or MIA membership) are mandatory.
Minimum 10–15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a public listed company.
Strong knowledge of MFRS, Bursa listing requirements, Companies Act 2016, and regulatory frameworks.
Experienced in financial consolidation, group reporting, and budgeting processes.
Demonstrated ability to partner with C-level stakeholders and manage board-level reporting.
High proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Excel-based financial modeling.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
