General Manager, Internal Audit

Committed to excellence, innovation, and governance, we are seeking a seasoned audit professional to lead our Internal Audit function and partner with senior leadership to drive risk management, compliance, and strategic assurance.
Role Summary:The General Manager, Internal Audit will lead the internal audit function across the Group’s property businesses and subsidiaries. This role is responsible for providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services, enhancing risk management, internal controls, governance, and compliance practices, and ensuring alignment with the Group’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute a risk-based annual internal audit plan approved by the Audit Committee.
Lead, manage, and mentor the Internal Audit team to deliver high-quality audit engagements across operations, projects, finance, compliance, and IT.
Perform and oversee complex audits and investigations, reporting significant findings and recommendations directly to the Audit Committee.
Collaborate with senior management to evaluate and strengthen internal controls, processes, and risk management frameworks.
Advise the Audit Committee and management on emerging risks, regulatory developments, and best practices relevant to the property sector.
Present internal audit findings, risk assessments, and recommendations to the Audit Committee and senior executives in a clear, concise, and impactful manner.
Manage external audit coordination, special investigations, whistleblower reviews, and ad hoc advisory services as required.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance audit methodologies, tools, and team capabilities.
Ensure audit activities comply with professional standards (IIA Standards, IPPF) and regulatory requirements (e.g., Bursa Malaysia, SC guidelines).
Champion ethical practices, corporate governance, and a strong control environment across the Group.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Professional certifications required: CIA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent. (Additional certifications such as CISA or CRMA are an advantage.)
Minimum 15 years of progressive internal audit experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Strong expertise in risk management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and internal controls within the property, real estate, or related industries.
Experience in a listed company environment is highly preferred.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
High integrity, strong business acumen, critical thinking, and ability to influence at Board and senior management levels.
Proficiency in audit technology tools, data analytics, and risk assessment methodologies.
