- Strengthen HSSE competencies among local staff through hands-on coaching, mentoring, and structured oversight, enabling independent and effective support of day-to-day operations.
- Drive cultural and behavioral transformation in HSSE practices across all levels of the organization.
- Integrate HSSE Minimum Requirements into daily operations through the EcoOils HSSE Management System, and enforce the use of core safety tools.
- Ensure effective implementation of IOGP Life Saving Rules and maintain robust site-level emergency preparedness and response measures.
- Oversee the Hazard and Effects Management Process (HEMP), maintain accurate risk registers, develop bowtie analyses for critical risks, and support the practical application of these controls to safeguard process safety barriers.
- Identify environmental risks and operational impacts, and formulate a comprehensive improvement strategy supported by practical and measurable plans.
- Analyze incident data to identify patterns and emerging risks, enabling informed, preventive decision-making.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents to uncover root causes and develop corrective actions aimed at preventing future occurrences.
the experience
- Possess a recognized degree in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum of 8 years of practical experience in developing and implementing HSSE programs.
- Proven expertise in establishing and managing systems compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards, combined with strong leadership and supervisory skills. Must be analytical, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and within a team.
- Must be a Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) and preferably hold a valid CePSWaM competency certificate.
- Proficient in both Bahasa Malaysia and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
