Job Summary
We are seeking a high-performing and motivated Investment Consultant / Senior Consultant to join our dynamic M&A advisory team based in Malaysia. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the origination and execution of M&A and corporate finance transactions across Southeast Asia. This role offers strong exposure to cross-border deals, high-impact clients, and collaboration with seasoned professionals in one of APAC’s leading advisory platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Execution
Support end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, including buy-side, sell-side, and capital raising mandates.
Prepare financial models, valuation analyses (DCF, trading/transaction comps, LBO), and investment memoranda.
Conduct due diligence coordination with clients, advisors, and counterparties.
Draft and review transaction documents including teasers, pitch books, info memos, and management presentations.
Market & Strategic Analysis
Conduct industry, market, and company research to support transaction origination and strategic assessments.
Prepare market entry, competitor benchmarking, and financial benchmarking reports for clients.
Client Engagement
Assist in managing client communication and deliverables throughout the deal lifecycle.
Attend and support client meetings, conference calls, and presentations with senior leadership.
Origination Support
Collaborate with senior bankers on deal origination, including pitch preparation and business development initiatives.
Track potential opportunities and assist in maintaining internal deal pipeline and CRM databases.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
2–5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, or Big 4 transaction services (e.g. corporate finance, due diligence).
Strong technical skills in financial modelling, valuation, and corporate finance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
Strong team player with a proactive attitude and a commercial mindset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial databases (e.g. Capital IQ, Bloomberg) is an advantage.
Preferred Backgrounds
Analysts/Associates from global or regional investment banks.
Corporate finance professionals from Big 4 advisory firms (Transaction Services, M&A, or Valuations teams).
M&A practitioners from boutique advisory firms or private equity firms with execution experience.
