About the job
You will primarily be responsible for sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management to support the company's production and operational needs. You will focus on the end-to-end procurement process for direct & indirect materials crucial to manufacturing. This includes:
Orchestrate and Streamline Procurement: Coordinate all company procurement activities to guarantee a seamless and efficient process.
Ensure Procedural Compliance: Verify that all procurement actions adhere to established procedures and that adequate data is collected prior to purchasing goods.
Negotiate with External Providers: Engage in open and professional negotiations with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery, and terms, strictly avoiding any deceptive practices.
Maintain Confidential Procurement Data: Keep all procurement information, including supplier details and purchase prices, confidential and secure, only disclosing it with management's explicit consent.
Optimize and Improve Procurement: Analyze existing procurement processes to identify and recommend improvements, collaborating with the operations team on cost-saving initiatives.
Manage Supplier Relationships: Coordinate supplier evaluations, track their performance, implement improvement plans, and foster relationships with potential new providers.
Undertake Ad-Hoc Assignments: Be available for special tasks as needed.
About the manager/ team
You will be reporting to an experienced Procurement Manager who comes with many years of experience within the organisation. You will work with a team of dedicated procurement professionals and receive good exposure to a large-scale manufacturing environment. Accommodation is provided for staff.
Skills and experience required
To be successful in your role, you will come with a tertiary qualification in a relevant field and some years of experience in handling procurement related projects preferably in a manufacturing environment. You must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and open to the specified working hours.
Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent.
Relevant work experience in a Procurement role within a Manufacturing Company.
Proficient in Mandarin to deal with China suppliers.
Able to work from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
