About the Role:
As the Strategic Procurement Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping our procurement landscape. Your responsibilities will include:
Develop and implement comprehensive strategic procurement strategies for all direct and indirect materials, components (e.g., paperboard, plastics, inks, adhesives), and services essential to packaging manufacturing. These strategies will align with company growth, sustainability initiatives, and cost-efficiency goals.
Lead the end-to-end sourcing process, including meticulous vendor identification, rigorous qualification, negotiation of favorable terms, and robust contract management for raw materials, finished packaging components, and related services.
Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality raw materials, packaging components, and essential equipment to support uninterrupted production schedules and minimize downtime.
Monitor and control procurement budgets, identify significant cost-saving opportunities, and implement innovative strategies to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) without compromising product quality or supply reliability.
Establish and maintain robust supplier performance management frameworks, conducting regular reviews and fostering strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and mutual growth.
Ensure strict compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations, including adherence to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and quality standards relevant to the packaging industry.
Collaborate closely with Research & Development (R&D), Production, Sales, and Finance teams for accurate material forecasting, proactive demand planning, and seamless integration into new product development initiatives.
Oversee comprehensive procurement documentation, conduct in-depth data analysis, and prepare insightful reports to inform strategic decision-making and ensure transparency across all procurement activities.
Proactively identify and resolve supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or delivery challenges with suppliers, implementing corrective actions swiftly to minimize any adverse impact on production.
Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, guiding them through complex tender processes, thorough quotation analysis, and effective negotiation strategies to enhance their capabilities and performance.
About the Team:
The Strategic Procurement Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for leading and developing a dedicated team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience Required:
Extensive experience in the packaging manufacturing or a related process manufacturing industry, with a deep understanding of raw materials, production processes, and supply chain dynamics specific to packaging.
Demonstrated strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
