We are now seeking a highly motivated and independent Accountant to join our team. This role will be based in Malaysia and will operate on a remote, sole contributor basis.
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to manage the full spectrum of our accounting operations in five key regions: Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, UK, and the US. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive individual with strong self-initiative who can work independently and collaborate with our team as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management: Manage daily accounting operations for our entities across all five countries, with a primary focus on transactions in Singapore and the US.
Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly management accounts and P&L reports, to provide timely insights into business performance.
Compliance & Coordination: Coordinate with local external company secretaries in each country to ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
Reconciliation: Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany transactions.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement efficiencies to improve accuracy and reduce manual workload.
Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all finance-related matters in the assigned regions, effectively communicating with internal teams and external partners.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
Proven experience in handling a full set of accounts for multiple entities in different countries.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
High level of self-initiative and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Essential to be able to speak and write in Mandarin
Experience with various accounting software and tools is an advantage.
Experience in the education or consulting industry is a plus.
