We are looking for a hands-on leader to oversee a team of accountants, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting and tax compliance services. The Role
As an Assistant Manager or Manager, you will act as the technical lead for your engagement team. You will move beyond transactional processing to focus on high-level review, consolidation, and client advisory. You will ensure that your team delivers full sets of accounts and statutory compliance on time, while also playing a key role in their professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Oversight: Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions for a portfolio of clients. This includes overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to ensure strict adherence to timelines.
Quality Assurance: Review bookkeeping records, consolidation reporting packages, and management reports prepared by your team to ensure accuracy and compliance with MFRS/MPERS.
Tax & Statutory Compliance: Oversee all tax compliance matters, including the review of Sales and Services Tax (SST), Withholding Tax (WHT), corporate tax computations, and deferred tax calculations.
Audit Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for external parties. You will coordinate with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries to finalize financial statements and annual statutory returns.
Team Leadership: Act as a mentor to your subordinates. You will manage workflows, review work quality, provide technical guidance, and conduct performance reviews to foster a high-performing culture.
Strategic Support: Assist management in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives to drive firm growth.
Key Requirements
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting. Prior experience in an outsourced accounting or professional services environment is highly preferred.
Leadership: Proven track record of leading teams or managing subordinates is essential.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. Professional qualifications (ACCA, MIA, CPA, or equivalent) are mandatory.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience preparing full sets of accounts under MFRS / MPERS.
Software Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SQL, Xero, MultiBook, or SAP.
Language: Excellent communication skills in English.
