role overview
We are looking for a CTO who views technology as a means to solve human problems, not just an end in itself. In this role, you will lead the engineering efforts with a "Product First" mindset. You will be responsible for ensuring technical architecture is flexible enough to pivot based on user feedback and robust enough to deliver a seamless, high-performance experience.
key responsibilities (product focus)
- Technical Product Strategy: Collaborate with the Chief Product Officer (CPO) to define the "how" and the "when," ensuring technical feasibility matches the product vision.
- User-Centric Engineering: Implement systems (like A/B testing frameworks and real-time analytics) that allow the engineering team to see how their work impacts user behavior.
- Architecture for Agility: Design a modular system architecture that allows for frequent deployments and easy integration of third-party product tools
- Growth Engineering: Work closely with Marketing and Product to optimize the user onboarding funnel and in-app engagement through technical optimizations.
skills/qualifications
- Full-Stack Awareness: Even if you specialize in the backend, you must have a deep appreciation for UX/UI principles and frontend performance.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in data science and telemetry to understand how features are performing in the wild.
- Bridge Building: The ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in terms of Time to Market and User Impact.
- 12+ years of experience, with a significant portion spent in companies with a strong Product-Led Growth (PLG) motion.
- Experience leading "Cross-functional Squads" where engineers, designers, and PMs work as a single unit.
- A portfolio of products you’ve shipped that scaled to millions of users.
