about the company:
A global leader in providing innovative solutions for material handling and storage, specializing in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-quality racking systems.
about the role:
The role requires a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of various racking systems, ensuring their safety, stability, and efficiency. You will utilize your technical expertise to create detailed models, perform structural analysis, and contribute to the optimization of our product offerings.
key responsibilities:
... - Design and Development:
- Develop innovative and efficient designs for various types of racking systems (e.g., pallet racking, cantilever racking, mezzanine systems) based on project requirements and client needs.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure the safety and stability of racking designs under various loading conditions, including seismic considerations.
- Select appropriate materials and finishes for racking components, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to engineering drawings to clearly communicate design intent and control manufacturing variations.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all designed systems and components.
- Consider Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to optimize designs for efficient and cost-effective production.
- Analysis and Simulation:
- Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to simulate and analyze the structural performance of racking systems.
- Conduct calculations and analyses related to load capacities, stress, and deflection.
- Evaluate and optimize designs based on simulation results.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the material handling, structural steel, or related industry.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, statics, dynamics, and strength of materials.
- Experience with structural analysis and load calculations.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and building codes for racking systems.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
