The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is a technical leadership role responsible for the lifecycle management of all site assets and infrastructure. You will oversee a multidisciplinary team to ensure that mechanical, electrical, and automation systems are maintained to the highest industrial standards. This role focuses on maximizing equipment reliability through advanced maintenance strategies, managing complex engineering projects, and ensuring a safe, compliant environment for medical device manufacturing.
key responsibilities
Engineering Strategy: Develop and implement a site-wide engineering and maintenance strategy focused on technical excellence and operational reliability.
Maintenance Systems Management: Direct all preventive and corrective maintenance activities, utilizing CMMS to track work orders, equipment history, and asset performance metrics.
Asset Reliability: Implement advanced maintenance methodologies to optimize machine uptime, extend equipment life, and reduce total cost of ownership.
Capital Engineering Projects: Lead the planning and execution of facility-related engineering projects, including equipment upgrades, system integrations, and plant renovations.
Utility & Infrastructure Oversight: Manage the operation and maintenance of critical plant utilities (Power, HVAC, Compressed Air, Water) to ensure uninterrupted production.
Technical Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with building codes, machinery safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Budgetary Control: Manage the engineering department’s financial resources, including maintenance spend, spare parts inventory, and capital investment justifications.
Team Leadership: Provide technical mentorship to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, precision, and continuous skill development.
requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in engineering or industrial maintenance management, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance best practices, MEP systems, and automation/control systems.
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects from feasibility through to commissioning.
Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements, building codes, and Occupational Health and Safety (EHS) standards.
Systems Expertise: Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and engineering software applications.
Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
