Position Overview
The Finance Director will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and the Board, overseeing the entire financial landscape of a premier 250-bed hospital. With an aggressive expansion plan to add 100+ beds in the near future, the hospital requires a leader with a formidable accounting foundation and high-level business acumen. You will lead a department of 20+ professionals, driving business decisions through data-driven insights while ensuring fiscal discipline and operational excellence during a high-growth phase.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Expansion Management
Growth Strategy: Act as a core member of the senior leadership team, providing financial modeling and feasibility studies for the 100-bed facility expansion.
Business Partnering: Partner with the CEO to drive revenue growth, optimize cost structures, and evaluate investment opportunities in medical technology.
Capital Planning: Evaluate and manage the hospital’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing for facility upgrades.
Financial Operations & Performance
Departmental Oversight: Lead a high-performing finance team of 20+, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee the full spectrum of hospital billing, clinical costing, and pharmacy inventory management.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, challenging department heads on variances to ensure alignment with clinical goals.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Financial Integrity: Ensure all reporting is compliant with MFRS, IFRS, and local healthcare regulations.
Audit & Tax: Act as the primary liaison for external auditors and tax authorities, ensuring efficient tax planning and risk mitigation.
Systems & Digitalization: Drive digital transformation within finance, including ERP enhancements and automated reporting tools.
Key Requirements
Professional Credentials: Must be a fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA, or CIMA).
Experience: Minimum 15+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the Healthcare or Hospital industry.
Core Competencies: * Strong business acumen with a proven track record of helping drive business decisions.
Experience managing large teams (20+ headcounts).
Significant experience in managing large-scale CAPEX or facility expansion projects.
Big 4 Foundation: Prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm is highly desirable for technical depth.
Attributes: Strategic thinker with "hands-on" operational capability and excellent communication skills for Board-level presentations
