Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Leadership & Governance
Oversee the preparation of full sets of accounts and ensure timely, accurate submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Ensure compliance with MFRS, Bursa Malaysia, and local statutory requirements, including tax, audit, and regulatory filings.
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, perform regular balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and ensure proper documentation and audit trails.
Develop and implement robust internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk.
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth statutory reporting and compliance.
2. Strategic Planning & Financial Management
Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting for all business units.
Conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful insights into business performance, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Partner with business leaders to develop strategic initiatives, supporting informed decision-making through data-driven recommendations.
Monitor cash flow and working capital, ensuring effective liquidity management and funding efficiency.
Provide guidance on cost optimization, pricing, and margin improvement initiatives to support business profitability.
3. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
Lead, coach, and develop a small finance team, promoting a culture of accountability, learning, and excellence.
Continuously review and improve financial processes and systems to enhance accuracy, speed, and scalability.
Champion digitalization and automation initiatives in finance operations and reporting.
Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with operations, HR, and commercial teams to align financial objectives with overall business goals.
Support the Financial Controller in group consolidation and management reporting, ensuring consistency and transparency across all entities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Professional qualification (MIA, ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage.
5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.
Proficiency in accounting systems (SQL, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
