The Finance Manager would be expected to lead the full spectrum of the company's finance and accounting functions, including:
Financial & Management Reporting:
Oversee and manage the full set of accounts, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
Prepare comprehensive monthly financial and management reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
Conduct variance analysis (Budget vs. Actual) and provide insightful commentary to senior management to support business decisions.
Budgeting and Financial Planning:
Lead the preparation and development of the annual budget, forecasts, and long-term financial plans for the company and its property development projects.
Manage cash flow effectively, including monitoring daily positions and ensuring adequate funding for operational and project commitments (e.g., loan drawdowns).
Project Accounting & Costing:
Prepare and monitor project costing and profitability, including project material quantities, consumption, and estimating Gross Profit (GP) margins, essential for the property development sector.
Manage accounting for fixed assets and inventory.
Compliance & Audit:
Ensure strict compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards (e.g., MFRS/IFRS), tax laws, and statutory requirements (e.g., SST, e-invoice).
Manage and coordinate the annual internal and external audits, liaising with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries.
Maintain and implement robust internal controls and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the finance department.
Strategic Support & Leadership:
Provide strategic financial advice and analysis to the CEO/CFO and management team on company expansion, new projects, and corporate finance initiatives (e.g., due diligence, feasibility studies).
Oversee and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
📚 Required Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate would typically possess the following credentials:
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Professional Certification: Highly preferred to be a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) or possess a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant working experience in financial management.
Specific experience in the Property Development or Construction industry is highly desirable.
Experience in a supervisory or managerial role, leading a finance team.
Skills:
Expert knowledge of accounting principles and financial legislation in Malaysia.
Strong proficiency in accounting software systems (knowledge of systems like IFCA is a plus) and Microsoft Excel (financial modeling).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
