Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
Own the Planning Cycle: Lead the end-to-end financial planning process, including annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-range strategic planning for the entire Malaysian business unit.
Drive Commercial Insights: Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to translate strategic goals into measurable financial targets and operational plans.
P&L Management: Conduct comprehensive variance analysis on the P&L (Budget vs. Actual, Forecast vs. Actual), providing insightful commentary and proactive recommendations to drive efficiency and meet profitability targets.
Performance Analysis & Decision Support
Evaluate Investments: Lead the financial appraisal and post-mortem analysis of key commercial initiatives, including new product development (NPD), major marketing campaigns, and trade spend effectiveness.
Margin and Pricing Analysis: Develop sophisticated financial models to analyze pricing strategies, product gross margins, and cost structures to ensure optimal profitability and market competitiveness.
Business Intelligence: Develop and refine KPIs and financial dashboards, leveraging business intelligence tools to monitor daily performance across retail outlets and distribution channels.
Financial Governance & Process Improvement
Ensure adherence to corporate governance policies and maintain high standards for data accuracy and reporting integrity.
Identify and drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, leveraging technology to enhance the speed and efficiency of budgeting and forecasting.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is a strong plus.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in FP&A or Commercial Finance, with at least 2 years in a management or senior analytical role.
Experience within the FMCG or Retail industry, with a deep understanding of trade spend, inventory dynamics, and multi-channel profitability is a strong plus.
Exceptional financial modeling, analytical, and presentation skills (ability to clearly communicate complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders).
Proven ability to operate as a proactive business partner who challenges the status quo and influences commercial decision-making.
