about the company
Randstad is exclusively partnering with a rapidly expanding management consultancy startup. Operating under a highly decentralized model, our client is aggressively growing its footprint across various countries in Asia.
We are looking for a hands-on Finance Leader to establish the Group’s financial framework from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to join a business in its scaling phase, where you will not just manage operations but actively build the infrastructure for a future regional powerhouse.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director / CFO, you will oversee the Group’s financial health and provide strategic oversight to business units operating across multiple jurisdictions. You will be responsible for leading a finance team of 3-4 direct reports located in different operating geographies.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Framework & Governance: You will develop, document, and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and financial governance across all group entities to ensure standardized operations.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the full accounting function, including month-end/year-end closing, consolidation of financial statements, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
Strategic Planning: Build and maintain robust financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making and business expansion initiatives.
Treasury & Cash Flow: Actively manage the Group’s cash flow, working capital, and intercompany funding to ensure appropriate liquidity and minimize risk exposures.
Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely filings and adherence to IFRS/Local GAAP and statutory obligations.
Team Leadership: Lead the development of the finance team by recruiting, training, and managing staff, ensuring high standards of confidentiality and quality.
Key Requirements
Experience: Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in multi-entity, cross-border operations. Prior experience in a regulated or sensitive industry is highly preferred.
Language Proficiency: Strong written and spoken proficiency in both English and Chinese is mandatory to communicate effectively with cross-cultural teams and senior management.
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and local GAAP. You must be proficient in Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems.
Mobility: You must be ready to travel 25–50% of the time for cross-entity audits, site visits, or stakeholder meetings.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
Attributes: High integrity, professional ethics, and meticulous attention to detail are essential given the sensitive nature of the industry.
