About the Role
The Head of MYSG Communications and SEA Communications will lead the full spectrum of corporate communications across Malaysia, Singapore, and the Southeast Asia region. This high-impact role is responsible for driving internal and external communications strategies that align with business priorities, amplify brand visibility, and elevate leadership voice both locally and regionally. This person will be a key advisor to senior leadership and a central figure in shaping the company’s corporate narrative, reputation, and stakeholder engagement across markets.
Key Responsibilities
Malaysia & Singapore Communications
Develop and execute internal and external communications strategies to support business goals, brand equity, and employee engagement.
Advise the General Manager and leadership team on strategic communications.
Lead media relations including press releases, interviews, P.R campaigns, and issue response.
Oversee internal communication platforms and content such as townhalls, leadership updates, and cultural campaigns.
Ensure communication during crises and transitions is timely and aligned with leadership and functional leads.
Maintain consistency in tone of voice and messaging with global brand guidelines.
Manage external P.R agencies and media consultants effectively.
Support communications in organizational change and transformation initiatives.
SEA Regional Communications
Align and activate regional communication strategies across SEA markets.
Drive cluster-level messaging in coordination with SEA General Secretary and Corporate Affairs team.
Localize and roll out global campaigns with in-country communications leads.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and capability building across SEA communication teams.
Lead regional crisis communications coordination.
Support regional communication on key themes such as sustainability, innovation, and regulatory affairs.
Represent SEA in global communications forums and act as the key contact for all SEA-level messaging and media coordination.
Additional Responsibilities
Act as spokesperson for Malaysia and Singapore when needed.
Craft speeches, talking points, and messaging for the SEA leadership team.
Drive thought leadership, media content creation, and storytelling to enhance leadership visibility.
Monitor public sentiment, manage media coverage, and develop reputation risk mitigation plans.
Embed company purpose and values consistently across all communications touchpoints in SEA.
Requirements
10–15 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, or Media Relations.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Track record in developing and executing communications strategies in FMCG or regulated industries.
Experience managing both internal and external communications, including media and crisis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including content creation for various formats.
Proven ability to advise senior executives and influence across functions.
Experience managing agency partners and using digital communications platforms.
High adaptability and organizational agility; thrives in complex, matrix environments.
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional SEA languages are a plus.
