Job Description: Head of Compliance
Role Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Compliance to lead our compliance and risk management functions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the financial services industry, particularly in insurance, with a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in Malaysia and Labuan. This role is crucial for ensuring our business operates with the highest standards of integrity, adherence to regulations, and a strong culture of compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement robust policies and procedures related to Business, Risk Management, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Regulatory Compliance.
Create and execute a comprehensive compliance strategy and framework that is tailored to local regulatory requirements.
Oversee all compliance and risk programs, ensuring they are aligned with best market practices.
Stay consistently updated on regulatory developments and industry trends, and effectively communicate these to company leadership.
Integrate compliance considerations into new product development and existing business processes in collaboration with company leadership.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, including BNM and LFSA.
Lead compliance training programs and develop educational materials for internal teams to foster a culture of compliance.
Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to manage and advise on all compliance-related matters.
Job Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in compliance and risk management, with at least 5 years of experience within the financial services industry.
Extensive experience in managing relationships with regulators and law enforcement agencies.
An in-depth understanding of financial regulations, specifically within the fintech and insurance sectors, including AML/KYC, sanctions, anti-bribery, and BNM or LFSA guidelines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with regulators, senior management, and cross-functional teams.
Fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential, as the role requires effective communication with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders.
