Reporting to the Head of IPL via the Senior Manager, UW and Product , you will be instrumental in ensuring the profitability and growth of a diverse portfolio, which includes Auto, Residential, and Specialty Personal Lines (SPL) such as Device Protection and Cyber Insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Portfolio Management: Actively contribute to meeting the yearly IPL financial plan (topline and bottomline). You will assess and manage portfolio performance, handle underwriting referrals, and continuously enhance underwriting processes.
Product Development & Innovation: Provide essential technical support during the development of new product features and coverage wording, and help obtain necessary approvals. You will support required system changes or maintenance for Auto, Residential, or SPL products.
Operational Efficiency: Focus on improving the underwriting journey, reducing administrative work, and shortening the turnaround time for referral/approval cases.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure full compliance with regulatory, PIAM, local, regional, and global guidelines, including peer review. Prepare and submit accurate and timely internal and external reports and statistics.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with distribution channels, providing constructive feedback and discussion to generate new ideas and grow the portfolio. You will coordinate information and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience within the General Insurance industry is required, with a preference for a motor focus and a strong underwriting background. Additional working experience in portfolio management or insurance product pricing is recommended.
Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in an insurance-relevant field. Preference will be given to degrees in Actuarial, Statistic, Business Admin, Financial or Management. Additional professional insurance qualifications paper is recommended.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point is necessary. Proficiency in data manipulation / extraction tools such as SQL, and BI tools is highly valued.
Soft Skills: Must possess a positive work attitude with a focus on continuous improvement. Strong communication, excellence in execution, innovative thinking, and an inclusive mindset are key to success.
