We are looking for:
- Senior / Staff Mechanical Engineer, who is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and structures used in advanced material analysis instruments. This role will be working closely with multidisciplinary international teams including electrical, electronics, software engineers and physicists to deliver high-performance and reliable instrumentation systems.
- This position requires strong technical expertise in mechanical design and hands-on development experience throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems including structures, precision mechanisms, enclosures, assemblies, productions tools and test stand for analytical instruments.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, assemblies, and 2D drawings with proper GD&T standards.
- Collaborate with electrical, electronics, and software engineers to ensure proper system integration and alignment of mechanical components with overall system requirements.
- Perform prototype builds, mechanical integration, testing, and validation to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with product specifications.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for mechanical issues during development, assembly, testing and serial production phases.
- Work closely with suppliers on fabrication processes such as machining, sheet metal, and plastic injection molding.
- Work closely with international R&D teams and local operation teams to support product ramp up to serial production of new products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in precision instruments or scientific equipment development.
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Competent in mechanical engineering tools and methodologies such as tolerance analysis, GD&T, FEA, and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in mechanical design principles and material science, familiar with manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, machining, sheet metal fabrication and surface finishing.
- Working knowledge of SAP ERP system (including BOM management, material master data, and engineering change management) is preferred.
- Experience in full product development life cycle (from concept to serial production) is preferred.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
