The Role
This is more than just a processing role; you are the First Line of Defense.
As a New Business Administrator, you sit at the intersection of Customer Service, Operations, and Compliance. You will be responsible for reviewing incoming business applications to ensuring they meet strict regulatory standards (AML/CFT) before they are accepted. You will act as the primary liaison for Financial Advisers, guiding them through the onboarding requirements to get their clients' policies live.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance & AML Control (The Gatekeeper)
Risk Assessment: Review new business applications to ensure strict compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT) regulations.
Due Diligence: Perform Know Your Customer (KYC) checks, including verifying Source of Wealth (SoW) and Source of Funds (SoF) documentation.
Screening: Conduct sanctions screening and high-risk client assessments to identify potential regulatory red flags early in the process.
2. Application Processing & Quality Assurance
Quality Control: Scrutinize application forms to ensure all data is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Decision Making: authority to accept, pend, or reject applications based on the quality of documentation provided.
Efficiency: Manage a pipeline of applications, ensuring that "clean" business is processed rapidly to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
3. Stakeholder Management & Communication
Advisor Support: Act as the main point of contact for Financial Advisers and Brokers. You will proactively contact them to request outstanding documents (e.g., missing ID, proof of address) in a professional and helpful manner.
Problem Solving: Explain complex regulatory requirements to non-technical stakeholders, helping them understand why specific documents are needed to unblock an application.
Internal Liaison: Collaborate with the Compliance and Legal teams on complex cases that require enhanced due diligence.
Key Requirements
Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in the Financial Services sector (Life Insurance, Banking, or Wealth Management).
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with AML/CFT frameworks, CDD (Customer Due Diligence), and KYC processes is highly desirable.
The Mindset: You must be "eagle-eyed." A strong attention to detail is non-negotiable in this role.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be comfortable picking up the phone to speak with international advisers.
Education: A Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
