Responsibilities
- Review and monitor the company’s cash flow reports, daily cash positions, and forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and strategic needs.
- Advise management on cash requirements, working capital optimization, and improvements to cash management processes.
- Review month-end closing reports, consolidated financial statements, and management reports for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
- Conduct high-level variance and trend analysis to support management decision-making.
- Review tax computations, filings, and regulatory submissions for Malaysian and Singapore entities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Support accounting system evaluation, testing, and potential transition, including reviewing workflows and validating financial data.
- Provide input on process improvements across accounting and finance functions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee or review the work of team members where required and provide guidance as needed.
- Handle ad-hoc accounting and finance tasks to support organizational goals.
Experience and Qualifications Preferred:
- Possess a relevant degree or professional qualification (eg: ACCA/ CPA) in the Accounting and Finance field
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
- Experience in the oil and gas exploration and production industry an advantage
- Proven experience in treasury management, cash flow review, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and working within a fast-changing and dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
- Experience with accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., MYOB, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Good command of English, both written and oral
