The Senior Finance Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), management reporting, group consolidation, and ensuring robust financial compliance and internal controls across the entire Group.
ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning, Analysis & Reporting
Data & Framework: Understand and gather financial and business data, including setting up, validating, and sustaining a structured data-to-reporting framework.
Management Reporting: Own the management reporting functions, encompassing comprehensive analysis and insights of markets and competitors, dashboard preparation, strategic plans, and periodic budget and forecasting modeling.
Strategic Analysis: Drive ad-hoc financial analysis to evaluate business initiatives, investments, revenue strategies, and cost optimization projects.
System Optimization: Collaborate with the IT and other departments to customize and optimize FP&A systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing financial and operational platforms (Terminals and Online portal).
Performance Monitoring: Monitor key financial metrics, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend data-driven strategies to improve business performance.
Ad-hoc Assignments: Undertake any ad-hoc assignments whenever required.
Group Reporting & Compliance
Financial Closing: Oversee the group's monthly financial closing activities and the preparation of financial statements across the Group.
Statutory Reporting: Responsible for group and subsidiaries' financial reporting, including consolidation, acquisition accounting (includes goodwill, purchase price allocation, fair value accounting, ESOS), management accounts and reports, and statutory compliances to financial reporting.
Taxation & Related Parties: Responsible for income tax/deferred tax computation and management of related party and inter-company transactions and reconciliation.
Audit Management: In charge of the entire audit exercise for the Group and responsible for the preparation of audited financial statements.
Secretarial Matters: Handle and liaise with Company Secretarial matters, including overseas entities.
Internal Control & Governance
Audit Liaison: Lead and liaise with the auditors of the group of companies in and outside Malaysia to ensure proper audit compliance and completion of the financial statutory audit within the timeline.
Regulatory Compliance: Manage and ensure financial and operations are in compliance with local regulatory or statutory bodies for accounting standards, direct and indirect taxes, transfer pricing, and licensing issues.
Risk Management: Perform risk assessments for both financial and operations and implement action plans to close gaps.
Policy Implementation: Implement and monitor financial processes, policies, and procedures incorporating business and internal controls, and compliances to accounting standards and policies; including standardization of the Chart of Accounts.
Corporate Governance: Carry out the internal control over document control, corporate governance, and the code of business conduct for the group of companies.
Ad-hoc Compliance: Handle ad-hoc compliance and internal control assignments.
Requirements
Professional Qualification: Professional qualification such as ACCA/ICAEW/CPA/CA or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Membership: MIA membership is mandatory.
Experience: Minimum 13 years of relevant professional experience with not less than 5 years of managerial exposure.
Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and Bursa compliance & reporting.
Strategic Capability: Strategic hands-on planning, analysis, and execution capability on the financial business operations.
Financial Management: Strong background in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, business planning, analytical skill, and reporting.
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
