key responsibilities
- Must drive significant, large-scale results through their teams and projects.
- Strategy & Roadmap: Define the technical strategy and roadmap for the group, establishing clear success metrics and executing initiatives using agile methodologies.
- Technical Leadership: Partner with tech leads and architects to solve complex technical challenges. They must possess a strong perspective that inspires engineers to develop simple, effective solutions.
- Process Improvement: Implement and champion effective engineering processes across the team.
- People Development: Mentor and manage the professional growth of each direct report through performance management and coaching.
- Empowerment: Provide engineers with the tools, confidence, and motivation to make independent, impactful decisions.
- Collaboration: Initiate and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships (with Product, Business, and Operations teams) to gather feedback, define requirements, and ensure technical alignment across all stakeholders.
mandatory qualifications
- Total Experience: 10+ years of professional experience.
- Experience working with very large-scale applications.
- Management Experience
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in problem-solving, data structures, and algorithms.
- Distributed Systems: Experience designing and managing distributed systems that handle significant amounts of data.
- Coding: Excellent coding skills in at least one major language
