about the job
This role requires a Staff Engineer to act as a technical expert and leader, reporting to the Maintenance Execution Manager. You will be responsible for supporting preventive and corrective maintenance functions for mechanical and electrical/automation equipment, ensuring equipment availability is aligned with production needs. This role involves providing in-depth technical analysis, driving continuous improvement initiatives (like Kaizen), and actively participating in strategic planning and budget cycles to optimize maintenance performance and minimize operational risks.
key responsibilities
Technical Maintenance Support: Responsible for supporting preventive and corrective maintenance for operational equipment, ensuring high availability and reliability. Provide technical analysis, based on best practices and international standards, to the maintenance team. Support technical teams during critical breakdowns and shutdowns.
Performance and Continuous Improvement: Track performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assist supervisors with improvement activities. Drive overall team cost optimization and waste elimination. Initiate and assist with Kaizen and other improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiency and performance.
Reliability and Risk Management: Support the analysis (Root Cause Analysis - RCAs) of frequent critical equipment failures to identify root causes and propose actions to avoid recurrence. Provide information to the Reliability team to improve the Asset Management (AM) strategy.
Leadership and Strategy: Coach and develop Maintenance execution personnel. Interface with internal stakeholders in creating and implementing the Maintenance Master Plan and Strategic Guidelines. Actively participate in the budgetary cycle and strategic planning.
requirements
Experience: 8-10 years of experience in maintenance and engineering, preferably of port equipment or within heavy industries.
Minimum Education: A professional Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Specific Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Reliability tools such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Preventive Maintenance Optimization (PMO), Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Life Data Analysis, and Reliability Growth Models.
